Matt Triggs
Matt Triggs is a partner with Downey | McElroy, P.A., having joined the firm in August 2025 after heading up the Fiduciary Litigation Practice Group of an AMLAW 50 firm and the firm’s Florida litigation practice. He is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a member of its Fiduciary Litigation Committee. On the state level, Matt chaired The Florida Bar’s Probate Rules Committee, the Trust Law Committee of the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar and served as vice-chair of the Probate Law & Procedure Committee. On the national level, Matt served as Group Chair of the American Bar Association’s Litigation & Professional Responsibility Group within its broader Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section. Matt is an Emory Law School graduate (graduating 3rd in his class) and a member of the Emory Law Journal. He is also a prolific writer on fiduciary litigation topics and frequently speaks on current trends. Matt’s experience includes representing clients in state and federal court as well as arbitration proceedings.
